Winter Scene #5: Near Poet’s Walk, Central Park.
On either side of Poet’s Walk there are stands of trees (American Elms?) that form vaulting, interlocking branches. This is the east side stand. #2 is the west side stand. Poet’s Walk itself exhibits the same effect and is often photographed but I think these two stands are finer.

These photos group well together; the warm colors, the general emotion of friendship and joy, and the grain of the film all tie them together. The first beautifully frames the pier, the last portrays emotion wonderfully.

Well, not so much… In the greater Las Vegas area shopping carts appear as if they were sentient beings… although their primary mode of propulsion is 1) lazy people, 2) homeless people, or 3) grocery shoppers who have no car and must carry groceries home from the nearest store which is sometimes many, many miles away from home… This particular cart must’ve been parked here in the flood control canal for a good amount of time based on the flotsam and jetsam entangled around its wheels.
